A woman was fatally stabbed and another was wounded during a fight early Friday in Austin on the West Side.
Around 12:15 a.m., a 20-year-old woman approached another woman in the 5300 block of West Chicago Avenue and the two began fighting, Chicago police said.
Both women were cut by something sharp, police said. The woman who originally approached the other woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The other woman, also 20, suffered multiple lacerations to her arm and was taken to West Suburban Hospital where she was in good condition, officials said. She was placed into custody.
