CBS to Feature Special Look Into Rob & Michelle Reiner Case

“48 Hours” is expanding its coverage with a new podcast and video series focused on ongoing criminal investigations. The upcoming series, “48 Hours: Case by Case,” will take a closer look at major cases making headlines, including the deaths of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

According to a press statement, the series will break down what is happening in significant cases, why they matter, and what developments may come next. The show premieres April 17, with new episodes released weekly.

Rob & Michele Reiner Case to Be Featured on ’48 Hours: Case by Case’

The new series will spotlight the case involving Rob & Michele Reiner, whose deaths in December drew national attention, according to the statement given to People.

Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead in their Brentwood home on December 14. According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner, both died from “multiple sharp force injuries.”

Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested the same day and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, along with a special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. Prosecutors allege he fatally stabbed both parents inside a bedroom before leaving the home.

According to the BBC, Reiner appeared in court on February 23 and remains in custody. If convicted, he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

His next court date is scheduled for April 29.

Following the deaths, the couple’s children, Jake and Romy, said they were experiencing “unimaginable pain” after the “horrific and devastating loss.”

’48 Hours’ Expands Coverage With New Podcast and Video Series

CBS said “48 Hours: Case by Case” will be led by a rotating team of correspondents, including Anne-Marie Green, Erin Moriarty, Natalie Morales, and Peter Van Sant. The series is designed to provide timely updates on major cases.

Each episode will examine ongoing developments and provide context around why the cases are significant. In addition to the Rob & Michele Reiner investigation, the series will cover cases involving Luigi Mangione and Duane “Keefe D” Davis.

The show will be available on YouTube and major podcast platforms, including Apple and Spotify. Subscribers to 48 Hours+ will have access to ad-free episodes.
