WNBA free-agency update: Courtney Vandersloot resigns with the Sky

The Sky re-signed point guard Courtney Vandersloot to a two-year deal Sunday.

‘‘I truly believe the Sky are building something special, which made it a no-brainer to sign back,’’ Vandersloot said in a statement. ‘‘Finishing last season with an injury was disappointing, but I’m eager to be back on the court.’’

Vandersloot, 37, is arguably the Sky’s best player of all time. She leads the franchise in points, assists and steals and is second in assists in league history, trailing only Sue Bird.

She’s expected to return from the torn ACL in her right knee sometime this season.
