It’s the first Monday in May, and in pop culture, that means only one thing — it’s Met Gala day.
Yep, Anna Wintour and her 2026 co-chairs, Nicole Kidman, Beyoncé, and Venus Williams, have been busy curating the biggest event in fashion, which this year has a ‘Costume Art’ theme and ‘Fashion Is Art’ dress code.
But it’s not all prep and no play, because Nicole and a slew of other A-listers have just enjoyed a weekend of pre-Met fun.
On Saturday, billionaire couple Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez hosted a star-studded (read: controversial) party at their NoMad home to celebrate.
While the likes of Zendaya and Meryl Streep opted to skip the Bezos shindig amid calls for celebrities to boycott the event (people aren’t happy about Jeff and Lauren’s status as lead donors and honorary co-chairs), others ignored the drama and served looks instead.
Nicole was one of them, rocking up to the exclusive New York party in a deconstructed suit.
Complete with a white satin shirt, black blazer and tailored trousers, the 58-year-old hung an untied bow tie around her neck, accompanied by a simple pearl necklace.
Nicole wore her signature blonde locks down and in loose waves, with curtain bangs to frame her face.
Makeup-wise, the Babygirl star kept things subtle with a smoky eye, a layer of mascara, a touch of blush and glossy peach lips.
Nicole was joined by a host of other huge names, too, including two of the Kardashian-Jenners (Kris and Kendall).
The momager looked glam in a silk navy maxi dress and jewelled blazer, while her model daughter donned a vintage number from Thierry Mugler’s fall 1993 collection, consisting of a black long-sleeved dress with bowed detailing, a plunging neckline and asymmetric leg slit.
Other notable names in attendance included Serena Williams (who was likely there to support her co-chairing sister, also seen at the bash), Anna Wintour (because, of course), and the one-and-only Donatella Versace.
Nicole, who has been attending the Met Gala for over 20 years, is no stranger to co-chairing. She previously held the position back in 2003 for the ‘Goddess: The Classical Mode’ theme, where she stunned in an ethereal one-shoulder Gucci by Tom Ford piece, pairing it with bold earrings and a high ponytail.
She also co-chaired two years later in 2005 for the House of Chanel theme,wearing a polished couture look of a sleek, navy strapless Chanel gown.
In 2025, Nicole told Vogue that she looks forward to the event every year.
She said: ‘It’s lovely to just celebrate fashion… and couture and tailoring. There’s all these people behind the scenes who do all that beautiful work.’
Speaking about her involvement this year, she revealed that Sunday, her eldest daughter with ex-husband, Keith Urban, will be joining her on the iconic stairs.
‘I think it’s the third time I’ve co-chaired,’ Nicole said on a March episode of the Las Culturistas podcast.
‘I’m so, so happy, and my daughter Sunday will be coming.’
17-year-old Sunday is following in the footsteps of Kendall Jenner and the Hadid sisters, currently making a name for herself in the modelling industry.
During the podcast interview, Nicole expressed her pride for her daughter, gushing: ‘She’s actually just walked the Dior show. Yeah, she’s flying back from Paris now.’
Sunday also hyped up her mother during her recent Elle Australia cover interview.
The teen credited Nicole as being her ‘biggest inspiration’ and a ‘key part’ of her life.
Sunday said: ‘My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life. She is a key part of everything I do.’
Following its publication, a source told New Idea that Sunday’s father Keith, who split from Nicole in September 2025 after 20 years together, was reportedly ‘stumped’ by the omission.
The insider said: ‘Keith doesn’t know what to say, but he’s trying to put on a brave front. He knows he has to be patient; however, this latest snub — so publicly, there in black and white — has stumped him. It’s like he doesn’t exist.’
