<p id=”par-1_25″>Following a partial leg amputation, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/body-language-expert-analyzes-photos-meghan-markles-parents-1979-wedding-says-doria-ragland-looked-confident-thomas-markle-looked-awkward.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr.</a>, has left the Philippines, where he had the emergency surgery late last year. </p>
<p id=”par-2_28″>In December 2025, Thomas had a below-the-knee amputation on his left leg after a blood clot in his thigh cut off the blood supply to his foot. </p>
<p id=”par-3_63″>His eldest daughter and Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha, shared with <a href=”https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/meghan-markle-dad-thomas-harry-37103645″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Mirror</a>, “Dad made the decision to come back to the U.S. for ongoing medical care. He will be able to get the best prosthetics here and be surrounded by friends and family to support him. Even though he has been through such traumatic times, this has been a positive spiritual experience for dad.”</p>

That’s because there wasn’t much news about her dad when he lived more than 7,000 miles away in Cebu. But now with his return to the U.S., there’s always a chance he could talk to the media again or make another public plea to his daughter to see his grandchildren, which is something the duchess and Prince Harry have ignored. </p>
<p id=”par-5_29″>After his hospitalization, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/meghan-markle-getting-residual-checks-suits-surprise-streaming-success.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the former <em>Suits</em> star</a> said she contacted her father. However, Thomas and hospital staffers disputed that claim and insisted he did not hear from Meghan. </p>
<p id=”par-6_35″>A spokesperson for the duchess then <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/2143506/royal-family-live-meghan-markle-father-message”>clarified</a> that she had “emailed her father” but reportedly wrote to an email address which had not been used “for at least five years.” Thomas stressed that he “never uses email.”</p>
