Drew Barrymore is embracing age and all that comes with it, inspiring her fans to do the same. The actress posted an empowering video on Instagram on Wednesday, May 6, in which she posed without makeup and showed off her laughter lines as a badge of honor.

In the video, Barrymore spoke about the “lines” on her face and how it was normal to have them. She then gave a glimpse into what her life looks like by sharing a collection of clips showing her smiling and laughing. You can feel the emotion, and it is a beautiful thing to witness. In the caption, the “Blended” actress shared her thoughts, writing, “It has been such an honor to earn every single line I have on my face!!!!”

The comment section has been flooded with supportive messages from fans, praising Barrymore for sharing the post. “Thank you for embracing natural aging, specifically laugh lines, and normalizing all of it! As a mom, I want my daughter & sons to witness natural aging as a blessing,” a fan wrote.

Barrymore’s decision to share content like this has reminded fans that aging and living well are privileges, and that self-worth should not be linked to appearance. This is also not the first time she has shared footage of herself without makeup, or focusing on wrinkles and fine lines. 

Drew Barrymore Shares Video of Her Face as She Embraces Aging

In a video from December 23, 2025, which Barrymore pinned on Instagram, she gave fans a close-up view of her face without makeup. She showed herself from various angles. In the text overlay, she wrote, “Aging is a privilege. It is not something to fear.” The star echoed these thoughts with her caption, writing, “Aging is a privilege that I will never take for granted.”

Fans and celebrities reacted with overwhelming support. “Preach gorgeous,” Brandi Carlile wrote. Influencer and model Haylee Baylee also reacted with a simple message, writing, “Thank you.” 

Other reactions include, “Thanks for representing in a world telling us the opposite!!,” “Yes!!!! Legitimately we need more of this. Barrymore has opted not to have cosmetic procedures. “I haven’t done anything, and I want to try and stay that way … but I also am like, do whatever works for you,” she said on an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” in response to a question from a fan who asked about her “secret to aging gracefully.” The actress continued, “The only thing I do know is don’t judge other people because they do things differently. We are all on our own path, and we have to support each other.” Powerful words.
