Wes Streeting has paraded out of Downing Street after a 20 minute showdown with Sir Keir Starmer’s this morning.

The Health Secretary left Number 10 after challenging his boss on ‘how he intends to get us out of this mess’ ahead of the King’s Speech.

Sir Keir is said to be increasingly confident he can survive the political crisis despite the resignation of four cabinet ministers and calls from more than 80 Labour MPs to go.

Insiders think Streeting might lack the required support from 81 MPs to launch a challenge and won’t launch a challenge while the King is announcing the government’s legislative agenda.

Charles is expected to unveil more than 35 bills and draft bills, including plans to nationalise British Steel, as well as NHS and police reforms

The pomp and circumstance will wave in a truce between the warring Labour factions, but all eyes will be on how Starmer performs in the Commons this afternoon.
