No one was hurt when an American Airlines flight from Miami to Chicago had two flat tires after landing Tuesday night at O’Hare International Airport.
Flight 791, a Boeing 737, landed safely around 10:30 p.m. but was unable to taxi to the terminal after “experiencing a tire issue while taxing to the gate,” according to the Federal Aviation Administration and the airline.
Passengers were taken off the plane on the taxiway and bused to the terminal. The flight was bound for Chicago.
The aircraft was taken out of service to be inspected by an American Airlines maintenance team, the airline said in a statement.
“We appreciate the professionalism of our team and we apologize to our customers for their experience,” that statement said.
Chicago police responded to the scene and reported no injuries.
The FAA is investigating.
