Singer Jessie J has revealed she is now cancer free, 12 months after announcing her diagnosis.
The 38-year-old shared the good news on Instagram, telling fans she ‘sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year’.
Jessie (real name Jessica Ellen Cornish) was in hospital for her yearly check up, after being diagnosed with ‘early breast cancer’ last year.
In a video from a chair in the medical facility, she told her fans: ‘I’m actually s***ing myself I’m not gonna lie.’
She went on: ‘Gotta go in for my MRI, pretend I’m not claustrophobic.
‘And if you haven’t had a breast MRI, you have to lay on your front and put your arms in the air like Superman. I might have to have a bigger bucket this time, for these big old b****.
‘But fingers crossed all good, all good. Positive vibes.’
The Price Tag hitmaker proceeded to sing: ‘Don’t worry about a thing.’
Last June, Jessie told her fans she’d been diagnosed with the disease a few months earlier.
She said to her followers at the time: ‘I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I’m holding on to the word early.’
After receiving the health news in April 2025, she was ‘in and out of tests’ and said she was about to ‘disappear’ for a bit.
A week later, she performed at the Capital Summertime Ball and received cheers from 80,000 people in the audience – it was a moment that Jessie told Women’s Health she feels guilty that not everyone who has to have cancer surgery gets.
After that, Jessie underwent a mastectomy which she joked left her with ‘wonky boobs’, leaving her ‘trying to figure out how to dress’ until she ‘match[es] them up.’
By the end of last year she was back performing, treating audiences to a performance at the Music Industry Trust Awards in November where she was candid about how her ‘world had changed.’
Jessie remarked: ‘My perspective, what battles I’m going to pick, when death comes knocking at your door, and you kind of have to answer and f***ing kick it away, it just changes everything.’
In December, the Domino singer recalled exchanging a touching moment with the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, at the Royal Variety Performance.
They both acknowledged the ‘tough time’ they’d been through, and embraced in a hug, according to Jessie who spoke on Good Morning America.
In April 2026 she completed her No Secrets Tour with gigs across the UK and Europe, after originally postponing and cancelling dates to undergo further cancer treatment.
