A Fox News guest’s appearance has led to online speculation claiming he is wearing a convincing human face mask.
Retired US Navy Seal vice admiral Robert Harward appeared on the pro-Trump network’s news panel discussing the war in Iran.
Speaking on the live show, Harward claimed the US president has time on his hands with Iran and that he ‘controls the narrative’ against Tehran, including with his blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz before delving into further analysis.
But some viewers were distracted from his take on the conflict due to his neck.
The shadow on Harward’s neck sparked online speculation claiming someone else was pretending to be the retired CENTCOM admiral on a Fox News panel
Above his short collar, the 69-year-old retired deputy commander’s skin appeared to have a hollow dent.
It gave the rest of his neck a mask-like appearance, Reddit users pointed out in disbelief.
Social media punters went as far as to claim that the person purporting to be Harward was someone else wearing a ‘very realistic face mask.’

The debate escalated into memes of famous masked characters, including Jim Carrey’s Mask and Marvel superhero Deadpool, who is also bold like Harward.
One user asked ‘Hey jokes aside what is going on here?’
Eventually, one person explained what is likely to have caused the line on his neck, including a double shadow from a light and from his shirt collar, and the low quality of the video posted on Reddit of the news programme.
But some users refused to believe the logical explanation, with one saying: ‘That is a very reasonable explanation and I don’t doubt that’s [sic] whats going on, but man no matter how hard I try I cannot see it as anything other than a mask.’
Harward, known as Bob Harward, served in the United States Central Command, which is responsible for American military operations abroad, including in the Middle East and Asia.
