It’s June, and you know what that means? It’s officially summertime, and it’s going to be a great one.
England is going to win the World Cup (maybe), the weather is set to be scorching (maybe), and our holidays are booked (maybe).
Oh, in fact, now that I think about it, I’m not sure I can say for certain it will be a great summer.
Still, you know what will definitely be great? TV. After all, when has television ever let anyone down? Never, that’s when.
And you know what? It’s going to be a jam-packed June.

Some old favourites are returning, there are exciting new series, and there’s even a grand finale on the way. So here are my picks for the shows worth staying inside for this summer.
Cape Fear

Cape Fear is one of Martin Scorsese’s most underrated movies (and it inspired an even better Simpsons episode), but it’s now leaping onto the small screen.
Like the film, the show will follow Tom (Patrick Wilson) and Anna Bowden (Amy Adams), a pair of married attorneys who find themselves terrorised by Max Cady (Javier Bardem), an ex-client and convict who blames the couple for his time in jail.
I’ll be honest, this isn’t the type of thing I’d normally be into. After all, it’s going to be hard to outdo Scorsese. Still, I feel like I owe it to Apple after they spent all that dosh on the cast.
And if I don’t like it, I’ll just pop on that Simpsons episode.
Cape Fear will premiere on Apple TV Plus on June 5, 2026
Alice & Steve

God created Adam and Eve, but Disney Plus made Alice and Steve!
This fun comedy is about the titular mates who fall out after 20 years of friendship, when Steve starts dating Alice’s daughter.
On paper, that sounds more wince-inducing than sucking a lemon wrapped in tinfoil, but as a fan of cringe comedy, I’m all in.
Alice & Steve will premiere on Disney Plus on 8 June 2026.
I Will Find You

Harlan Coben writes the televisual equivalent of fast food, and as someone who loves fast food, I cannot get enough.
His new Netflix series, I Will Find You, is about a man (Sam Worthington) who’s sent to prison for murdering his son, but everything changes when the convicted father gets information that his son may still be alive. Sounds like my idea of a good time.
What’s more, I’m curious to see what Worthington can do when he’s not playing a giant blue alien.
I Will Find You will premiere on June 18, 2026, on Netflix.
Sugar Season 2

I’ll be honest, I had zero interest in the first season of Sugar. I’m sorry, Colin Farrell fans, I just don’t get the appeal.
Yet I promise you I’m going to be glued to season 2. Why this sudden change? Well, the first series ended with such a genuinely bonkers twist that I must know what is next.
To tell you exactly what happened might alienate our readers, but if you know, then I bet you’re just as excited as I am.
Sugar Season 2 will premiere on June 19, 2026, on Apple TV Plus.
The Agency Season 2

The Agency deserves your attention for its cast alone. After all, it stars Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Hollywood royalty Richard Gere.
Still, beyond its incredible cast, what makes The Agency such a fun watch is the way it shows the less glamorous side of the spy world. It’s a tale of regret, and about the toll living in the shadows takes on a person.
Sounds like the perfect escape from the relentless heat!
The Agency Season 2 premieres on June 21, 2026, on Apple TV Plus.
House of the Dragon Season 3

To Westeros next, where the Dance of the Dragons is heating up (as if it wasn’t hot enough). Yes, after a two-year break, House of the Dragon is back for another action-packed series.
Fans can expect to see the legendary Battle of the Gullet – where the throne usurping Greens attempt to rout the Black’s forces at sea – as well as other iconic moments in Westerosi history like The Fall of King’s Landing.
Who will claim the Iron Throne when the dragon smoke clears, and the battles have been fought? Well, we’ll have to watch to find out… or we could read the book, but that’s less fun.
House of the Dragon season 3 premieres on June 21 on HBO Max and Sky.
The Bear season 5
From the searing blaze of dragon’s breath to the intense heat of the kitchens now.
The Bear, Disney and Hulu’s chaotic cooking show about an award-winning chef, Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), trying to open a fine-dining restaurant, is set to roar its last this June.
Last time we saw Carmy, he’d walked away from the food industry to work on his mental health, leaving his put-upon sous chef, Sydney, in charge of their restaurant: The Bear.
While we don’t know too much about this fifth and final season, we imagine the show will see the remaining staff trying to keep The Bear afloat as Uncle J’s deadline gets closer and closer.
The Bear season 5 will be available to stream on Disney Plus from June 25, 2026.
