Seiko is giving fans of acclaimed anime series Fullmetal Alchemist a true collector’s watch that brings the story to life, delivering a soon-to-be-rare timepiece inspired by the show’s Edward Elric.

The Seiko x Fullmetal Alchemist Watch (available for pre-order through Japanese anime platform AMNIBUS and retailers like The Japanese Factory) aims to use the Japanese series as style inspiration to upgrade your wrist game. The affordable watch is priced at just $290 through AMNIBUS and $650 through authorized retailer The Japanese Factory. “Every detail of this watch has been meticulously designed to honor the legacy of Edward Elric,” The Japanese Factory sagely noted in a statement.

Seiko recently celebrated its 145th anniversary by retooling a slew of its most popular watches in limited-edition designs, including the iconic Seiko Prospex, and this timepiece takes on a similarly functional bent with a durable 39.8mm case. The Seiko x Fullmetal Alchemist Watch also carries on the Japanese watchmaker’s history of collaborating with media properties and anime shows, including the Seiko x The King of Braves GAOGAIGAR 25th Anniversary Collaboration, a quartz chronograph that retailed for about $1,000 at the time of its release.
The cult-favorite show tracks two alchemist brothers (Alphonse and Edward) in a sweeping journey in search of the Philosopher’s Stone, and the Seiko x Fullmetal Alchemist Watch nods to that tale with details like Edward’s red transmutation circle set on the black dial, with a 6-o’clock Amestris Military crest sub-dial.
Edward’s pocket watch is also given a fitting homage via the engraved caseback, bearing the quote “”Don’t forget 3. OCT. 11.”” That pivotal detail makes it “an emotionally resonant collector’s piece with a deeply personal connection to the story,” The Japanese Factory said.

A special-edition collector’s case features Edward’s signature red coat colorway, while the Flamel’s Cross appears in matte gold foil. On the watch itself, the specs are worthy of a universally admired adventurer, featuring 100 meters of water resistance and a stainless steel case complemented by a burly tachymeter on the dial. The Seiko 8T67 quartz caliber movement within features about three years of battery life, while stopwatch functionality is complemented by Lumibrite luminous material dial markings. For now, collectors will have to take solace in rewatching the show across its 9-year run, as the Seiko x Fullmetal Alchemist Watch is available for pre-order.
