Kylian Mbappe reveals talks with David Beckham over stunning transfer

Kylian Mbappe has not ruled out a move to Major League Soccer in future, revealing that David Beckham has been doing his best to temptthe Frenchman to America.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a stellar career so far, starring for Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and now Real Madrid.

He has also shone on the international stage, scoring twice in France’s World Cup opener against Senegal last week to take his tally to 58 goals in 99 caps.

Any team in the world would love to have the French superstar and he has hinted he could turn out in MLS at some stage of his career.

It seems unlikely to be in the immediate future, while Mbappe remains one of the best players on the planet, but Inter Miami co-owner Beckham is trying to make it happen.

Beckham has already brought Lionel Messi to MLS and he has spoken to Mbappe about landing another global superstar.

Asked about a move to MLS, Mbappe said: ‘We’ll see. David Beckham has mentioned it to me many times.

‘American culture is different, there are no limits to ambition, and I like that.’

Mbappe did say that he doesn’t fancy playing in Europe at 40 years old, joking that he will have had enough of being kicked before then.

‘I won’t be here at 40, they’ll have kicked me out before then,’ he said. ‘I don’t make long-term plans, I want to enjoy this World Cup.’

Mbappe paid respect to Messi when asked who is the best forward on the planet, saying that the Argentine legend and his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo are still top of the tree.

‘Messi is the best player along with Cristiano, that’s clear,’ he said. ‘I’m trying to help my team win another World Cup. The rest is just debate for journalists.’

Messi moved to become joint record scorer in World Cups on 16 after his hat-trick against Algeria put him level with Germany’s Miroslav Klose.

Mbappe is just two adrift of that record, but says it is not on his mind, saying: ‘I’m going to keep scoring to help my country go as far as possible. And, of course, by scoring, I’ll get closer to that record.’

France are back in action on Monday against Iraq as they look to wrap up qualification to the knockout stages at the earliest point possible.
