Now, this is a deal, my friends. You can get onto the 1934 Queen Mary ocean liner, which is now a hotel and museum in Long Beach, on frequent Tuesdays during the “Meet Me at the Mary” happy hours.
The happy hours take place from 4 to 8 p.m. in the ship’s beautiful Art Deco Observation Bar (ages 21+). Upcoming dates are July 7, 14 and 21. There’s live vintage swing music with the excellent Ashley Anne and the Carnations, and a dance floor.
Parking isn’t free, but it’s discounted to $15 with validation. This event happens on most but not all Tuesdays. You must reserve online in advance to be admitted onto the ship. 1126 Queens Highway, Long Beach. queenmary.com/whatsondeck.aspx
