Mason Mount has been linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan, but Manchester United are not looking to sell the midfielder.
Former Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim has taken over as manager at Milan and is thought to be keen on reuniting with Mount.
It was not a successful time in charge at Old Trafford for the Portuguese, but he was always extremely complimentary of Mount as a player and how he would fit into his much-debated 3-4-3 formation.
Amorim did not always get the chance to deploy the England international as he wanted, with Mount’s persistent injury problems, but he remains a fan and a £21.5million bid has been mooted.

However, the Daily Mail report that Manchester United have no intention of selling Mount this summer, nor does the player want to push for a move.
Instead, Mount has been training in Spain over the summer break and working on an individual fitness programme so he is fully up to speed for the new season.
Pre-season training begins for some Manchester United players on July 9, with Mount expected to be involved in that next week.
Injuries did hold him back again last season, but his 23 Premier League appearances were the most he has managed in any of his three Manchester United campaigns.
It seems unlikely he would become a regular first choice starter under Michael Carrick next season, but his versatility is a strength as he is capable of playing centrally, in the no.10 role and wide, if necessary.
The Red Devils will also be facing a much busier schedule next season as they return to the Champions League and hope for deeper runs in domestic cup competitions.
A midfield revamp is underway after Casemiro left on a free transfer and a deal to bring in fellow Brazilian Ederson from Atalanta has been agreed.
Another midfielder is expected to arrive, whether that is Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, Alex Scott from Bournemouth or another of those linked with a move to Old Trafford is yet to be seen.
However, Manchester United transfer plans have been hit by the serious knee ligament injury Manuel Ugarte suffered while playing for Uruguay at the World Cup.
Ugarte was a player on the transfer list this summer but as he faces months out of action an exit during this window seems very unlikely.
With the former Paris Saint-Germain player likely to stay, how much United have to spend on another midfield option will be limited.
