MAGA-aligned U.S. Representative Lisa McClain (R-MI), chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, released a one-minute video Friday on social media that echoed the views of President Donald Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) condemning an alleged rise of socialism in the Democratic Party.
In the video below, McClain said: “It’s not socialism, it’s straight up communism,” and claimed, “these people hate America, they hate our principles, they hate everything that this country was founded on.”
The congresswoman described Democratic politicians on the left as a group who “wipe their greasy fingers on the flag.”

Jasen Cartwright, an independent write-in candidate running for McClain’s congressional seat, replied with his own video asking: “Michigan, can we please stop electing morons?”
He added, “Lisa McClain literally does not have a clue what the definition of communism is.”
Cartwright said: “Why does Lisa constantly demonize half of Americans? The majority of Americans do love America and their neighbors and family members with different views — it’s hate-mongers like Lisa who want us to hate each other.”
