A 73-year-old man was in critical condition, and a 23-year-old man was also hospitalized Saturday after they were both shot in South Shore, Chicago police said.
The men were struck along the 7100 block of South Jeffery Boulevard at about 11:20 a.m., police said.
The 73-year-old man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The 23-year-old man shot transported himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.
The older man was also taken to the same hospital, police said.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
