1 man killed, 2 people injured after shooter fired shots into a crowd gathered in Douglas

One man died and two others were injured when a shooter fired several times into a crowd late Saturday in the Douglas neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The crowd was gathered in the 100 block of East 37th Street when the shooting started around 11:20 p.m., according to police.

Three people were hit and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, police said. A 32-year-old man, shot several times, was in critical condition but later pronounced dead. A 31-year-old man was also in critical condition. A 23-year-old woman, shot in her hand, was in good condition.
