Bebe Rexha is basking in well wishes from fellow superstars in the comments section of a particularly eye-popping birthday post. The Brooklyn-bred pop star and songwriter celebrated her 37th with a moody black-and-white Instagram carousel led by a stunning snap in which the Dirty Blonde artist dons black lingerie and an open dress shirt on the balcony of a Manhattan hotel.
“Happy birthday to me,” Rexha captioned the post, which also featured shots of her sipping coffee in the same scant outfit and a balloon-filled hotel room. Demi Lovato, Paris Hilton, Zara Larsson, Ice Spice, and Ne-Yo were among the famous friends who sounded off with felicitations in the comments.
Days prior, Rexha made her long overdue debut on NBC’s Today show at Rockefeller Center. She sat down for an interview with the program’s hosts inside the venue’s adjoining studio, where she discussed the genesis of Dirty Blonde, a dance-forward album that marks her first major release as an independent artist.
“I’m newly independent as a music artist, and it’s kind of hard not being in a major label system because it’s such a big machine. And I was nervous, but I felt so free. I get to do things my own way.”
She also discussed the conception of Eminem and Rihanna’s Grammy-winning megahit “The Monster,” which she co-wrote shortly after she was dropped by her record label.
“I kind of went through a dark phase, and I saw this quote that said, ‘We stop looking for the monsters under the bed when we realize they are inside of us.’ was going through a dark phase, but I found beauty in that darkness. It’s fun to write fun songs, but then also write things that like really speak to people. And that was my therapy.”
She continued, “I remember when they said Eminem and Rihanna wanted to do it, I was like, this is epic. They asked for the stems—the files of the song. And then I heard nothing for a year, and I’m in the studio, and my mom calls me. She goes, ‘Go to Eminem’s Instagram right now and look at the track.’ When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it.”
Her fourth album, Dirty Blonde, came out June 12, 2026, through Empire. While it charted modestly well—taking No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Dance Albums and No. 43 on the Billboard 200—Rexha made a bold decision to create a music video for each of the album’s 13 tracks, with the visual accompanying the house track “Çike Çike” being the standout. While no upcoming concerts have been confirmed, a Dirty Blonde supporting tour is expected to be announced soon.
