The Bears didn’t make any moves Monday, but some roster-shuffling is coming.
The team had only one of the 22 players it waived Sunday claimed by another team — offensive lineman Mason Murphy went to the Saints — and will want to bring at least some of them back, whether on the practice squad or on the active roster.
Safety Coby Bryant and backup tight end Hayden Large got hurt during training camp, so both needed to count toward the 53-man roster limit Sunday to have a chance to play this season. After the initial roster cuts, however, they can move to injured reserve and open roster spots.
The Bears also will have to weigh the health of left tackle Ozzy Trapilo, defensive end Austin Booker and running back Kyle Monangai and whether they expect them to be back within the first four games.
Nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon and defensive lineman Shemar Turner were on the physically unable-to-perform list before camp and stayed on it Sunday, ruling them out for the first four games.
The team plans to re-sign defensive tackle James Lynch, who was released Sunday, a source said.
The Bears also signed 11 players to practice-squad contracts, including veteran defensive end Marcus Davenport and wide receiver Scotty Miller, as well as wide receiver Kaden Davis, who has been a standout in camp.
Offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie, a third-round pick in 2024, agreed to a practice-squad deal with the Eagles, a source said.
