A source that accurately leaked the existence of the Star Fox and Ocarina Of Time remakes has shared further claims of unannounced Nintendo projects, ahead of this week’s twin showcases.
This week promises to be a big one for Nintendo fans, as the company has not one but two Nintendo Directs scheduled almost back to back: one for the 40th anniversary of The Legend Of Zelda and one for general Switch 2 announcements.
The Zelda one will no doubt have gameplay footage of the Ocarina Of Time remake and some kind of tease for next year’s movie, but it’s the second Direct that’s more mysterious, as there’s little hint of what Nintendo could have planned for it… at least officially.
Over the weekend, several rumours about the Direct surfaced online, with the most intriguing of them being Mario Kart World finally getting some proper DLC and Luigi’s Mansion 4.
Obviously, take all this with a grain of salt, but the Mario Kart World DLC rumour comes from malo932, who accurately leaked a number of Nintendo related reveals earlier this year, including the Star Fox remake. He even teased a ‘double appointment for Nintendo/Zelda fans’ before the two Directs were announced, so he’s obviously in the know.
As for the DLC, they claim the plan is to add Star Fox content to Mario Kart World in 2027, which they also say will be the year another Star Fox game launches. A new Star Fox game for 2027 was something malo932 alleged earlier this year, so the DLC might serve as a cross promotion for that.

Then again, it was widely theorised that more Donkey Kong content would be added to Mario Kart World, to cross promote Donkey Kong Bananza, and that never materialised.
Additionally, malo932 has suggested that both new Nintendogs and Super Smash Bros. games are in development, although they have since deleted those comments and updated their YouTube handle to ‘stop,’ which could mean they’re no longer comfortable sharing info a the moment.
On X, UniversoNintendo editor NecroFelipe not only insinuated that malo932’s info is accurate, but that Luigi’s Mansion 4 is on the way too, saying, ‘malo932 forgot to mention Luigi, poor Mario’s brother… even I’m missing that flashlight of his. Good thing the fourth game shouldn’t take long to come out.’
Even if all this is accurate, there’s no guarantee all of these announcements are planned for Wednesday’s Direct and Nintendo could very well make some last minute changes in response to these rumours, as it hates leaks with a passion.
NecroFelipe has already told people not to expect every one of malo932’s rumours to be announced during the Direct, although this appears to be his own speculation.
Regardless, this has got people revisiting malo932’s last batch of rumours, which mentioned a new 3D Mario game for 2027 (something reliable insider NateTheHate has also alleged), a new Wario Land for 2027, and a Super Metroid remake that’s apparently close to completion.
The Wario Land one has been corroborated by frequent rumourmonger Nash Weedle, which NecroFelipe also feels could be among Wednesday’s announcements, since ‘from what’s circulating the development was pretty advanced.’
As for the Metroid rumour, there was a leak in July that apparently gave away the existence of something called Metroid Ravenous, which sounds more like an original game than a remake. Either both projects exist or one is being mistaken for the other. Either way, 2026 marks Metroid’s 40th anniversary so you’d think Nintendo would have something to show for the occasion.
There’s also this alleged ad by Australian retailer EB Games, that features logos for the aforementioned Metroid Ravenous and a new Mario baseball spin-off called Mario Sluggers: Globe Trotters, but it looks like an obvious fake (or EB Games is really bad at making ads).
Even without that it seems these Directs are going to be bursting with new info, which should hopefully make up for the disappointing summer Direct, which his is usually when Nintendo makes most of its big announcements.
After Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave this month and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort in October, Nintendo has nothing else on its schedules, although The Duskbloods is supposed to be out at some time this year.
The Ocarina Of Time remake is also due for this year and is guaranteed to get a firmer release date at the Zelda Direct on Tuesday (one Swedish retailer lists it as November 12, but that may just be a guess), but other than that all that’s left is the Switch 2 upgrade for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on December 3.
