Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain will tear a page out of the playbook of Knott’s Scary Farm with an original werewolf-themed haunted house this Halloween season created by a Knott’s Berry Farm maze designer.
The new Wolves Blood haunted maze by Knott’s maze designer Gus Krueger will join a lineup of seven mazes, seven scare zones and two shows during Fright Fest 2026 running on select nights from Sept. 18 through Nov. 1 at the Valencia amusement park.

Krueger previously worked on the Eight Fingers Nine: The Boogeyman, Cinema Slasher and Chilling Chambers haunted mazes at Six Flags sister-park Knott’s Berry Farm.
The backstory for the new Fright Fest maze finds concert goers on their way to an invitation-only show by the fictional rock band Wolves Blood when they are attacked by werewolves.
“Wolves Blood is the story of a werewolf rock band out in the middle of nowhere doing their first show,” Krueger said. “That’s basically a way to lure you to this town to become fodder for a very mean and angry group of werewolves.”

The maze casts visitors as concert-goers on their way to the Wolves Blood show at the Dungeon Theater in Daylight’s End, a remote town overrun by werewolves.
The Wolves Blood maze begins at the Daylight’s End bus station where concert-goers get their first look at the forgotten town far off the beaten path. A brief pre-show will set up the backstory for the maze.
“You go on a little journey through the town before you eventually wind up at the Dungeon Theater where the band is playing,” Krueger said.

Concert-goers pass through a spooky city park, ransacked record store and barroom brawl on their way to Wolves Blood’s first show.
“Unruly werewolves have taken over this town,” Krueger said. “You are either a wolf or a victim.”
Several key scenes will be set inside the Dungeon Theater.
“We’ve got a big, gory scene at the merch booth,” Krueger said. “You go backstage through the dressing room before you get to the main theater.”
After a night of chaos, the concert-goers reach the Dungeon stage and finally get to see the Wolves Blood heavy metal band with a punk edge.
“I grew up going to metal shows and punk shows,” Krueger said. “I’ve got a couple references to the Rainbow and Whisky a Go Go to play into that type of vibe.”
Wolves Blood will take over the former Truth or Dare maze location behind the newly refreshed Looney Tunes Land at Magic Mountain.
“They had an overhead fly rig in the Truth or Dare maze,” Krueger said. “I was able to turn that into an outdoor alley scene so it’ll look like a wolf is jumping from rooftop to rooftop.”
Custom-designed Wolves Blood concert shirts — just like the ones seen in the Dungeon merchandise booth — are expected to be available for purchase during Fright Fest.
The Wolves Blood maze will be the first collaboration between Knott’s Scary Farm and Fright Fest since the merger of Cedar Fair and Six Flags in 2024.
“What I’m bringing to the table is a cool story that really fits in with the Fright Fest vibe,” Krueger said. “It’s a cool idea that fits their park a little better than ours.”
Wolves Blood will join Fright Fest haunted houses based on the Conjuring Universe, Final Destination and Trick ‘r Treat horror franchises along with three other original mazes.
