A first-of-its-kind roller coaster coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain that combines three ride experiences into one will take thrill seekers on an off-road motorcycle ride over rugged hillside terrain.
The new Thrill Glider multi-launch flying suspended motorbike coaster already under construction at the Valencia amusement park will open in 2027.

The world’s first Thrillglider roller coaster by Dutch ridemaker Vekoma will combine flying, motorbike and suspended coaster technologies into a new ride custom-built for Six Flags Magic Mountain (Note: Magic Mountain is using a slight variation of the ridemaker’s moniker as the attraction name, splitting Thrillglider into two words).
The Vekoma Thrillglider combines the ride experiences of the Tatsu flying coaster and Ninja suspended coaster at Magic Mountain with the Pony Express motorbike coaster at Knott’s Berry Farm into a new ride category known as a launched flying suspended motorbike coaster.
Thrill Glider riders will straddle hovercycles and sit in a prone position while suspended beneath the coaster track.
The terrain-hugging course will feature 20 track elements and 12 airtime moments during the 80-second ride featuring onboard audio, lighting effects and a station fly-by.
The 107-foot-tall multi-launch coaster will reach a top speed of 50 mph over 3,380-feet of track.
Thrill Glider will navigate five inversions: Wing Over, Zero-G Roll, Overbanked Stall Turn, Barrel Roll and Upward Barrel Roll.
Magic Mountain hopes the new Thrill Glider with a 48-inch height requirement will appeal to tween thrill seekers graduating up from Ninja (42 inch) but not quite ready for Tatsu (54 inches).
Thrill Glider will compare closely in speed (58 mph), height (131 feet), length (3,300 feet) and inversions (3) to Wonder Woman Flight of Courage — the last new coaster to open at the park in 2022.
The new Magic Mountain coaster will be the longest, tallest and fastest ride of its kind with the most inversions until versions of the Vekoma Thrillglider open at Futuroscope in France in 2028 and Efteling in the Netherlands in 2029.
Blue track and supports have begun arriving at Magic Mountain for the new coaster that will be built on 3.4 acres of the former Showcase Theater site beneath the former Superman: Escape from Krypton coaster.
None of Thrill Glider’s stats will come close to breaking Magic Mountain coaster records for speed (85 mph, Goliath), height (235 feet, Goliath), length (4,990 feet, Twisted Colossus) or inversions (7, Scream and Viper).
Goliath took over the speed and height honors at Magic Mountain when the 100 mph, 415-foot-tall Superman: Escape from Krypton coaster was officially retired in March 2025.

Coaster fans learned in January 2025 that a Vekoma Thrillglider was coming to Magic Mountain when the Los Angeles County Planning Department approved construction permits for the new thrill ride.
The new Magic Mountain coaster was announced in November 2024 as part of Six Flags’ plan to spend $1 billion on new rides.
The initial 2026 launch date for Thrill Glider was delayed until 2027.
Magic Mountain has extended a limited-time sale on 2027 season passes through Sunday, Sept. 13 with the announcement of the new coaster.
