The showbiz world was left stunned last week at the news that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are to go their separate ways after 19 years of marriage. According to reports, the Babygirl actress, 58, had been ‘fighting’ to save her relationship with the 57-year-old country singer, whom she wed in the summer of 2006. But of course the world of showbiz is pretty notorious when it comes to love splits played out in the public eye – and Nicole and Keith aren’t the only casualty of 2025. 2025 got off to a tricky start for actress Jessica Alba and her husband of 16 years,Fantastic Four producer Cash Warren. The Honey star confirmed the split after sparking speculation when she was seen without her wedding ring, saying on Instagram: ‘I’ve been on a journey of self-realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. 2. Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
Also hitting the rocks in January were singer Jessica Simpson and her former NFL player husband Eric Johnson, who called time on their partnership after 10 years of marriage. Confirming the split in a statement, Jessica said: ‘Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage. Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. Romance might have blossomed in the Love Island villa for Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page but those days are now gone. The pair were reported to have ended their relationship in January, just weeks after she reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing 2024. A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly. She gave her all in that competition. 4. Richard and Mindy Hammond
Former Top Gear host Richard Hammond announced in January that he and his journalist wife Mindy were parting ways after 28 years together and 23 as a married couple. While the couple spent Christmas together as a family with their two daughters – Isabelle, 24, and 21-year-old Willow – he announced on X shortly after that things would be ‘structured a bit differently’. Stranger Things star David Harbour and pop star Lily Allen were reported in February to have split after four years of marriage. The news came just weeks after Lily referred to a ‘tough time’ on an episode of her BBC podcast Miss Me? although she did not specify what had caused this. Love Island star Maura Higgins and Strictly semi-finalist Pete Wicks were reported in February to have called time on their romance, with a source telling MailOnline at the time that the pair had decided they were ‘better off as friends’. They were first linked after they were spotted on a series of dates in 2024, with Maura dropping hints about them dating while she was on I’m A Celebrity 2024. Pete is now rumoured to be dating his former Strictly dance partner Jowita Przystal, with the pair sharing a passionate kiss onstage at the O2 last month. Bohemian Rhapsody actor Rami Malek and The Crown’s Emma Corrin went their separate ways in April after two years of dating. Jojo Siwa and Kath Ebbs were revealed in April to have split following the Dance Moms’ star’s appearance in the Celebrity Big Brother house, where she grew close to former Love Island contestant Chris Hughes. Kath said at the time that Jojo had said weeks earlier she wanted to ‘marry’ her – but subsequently broke up with her at the Celebrity Big Brother wrap party. This Morning’s Cat Deeley and TV presenter Patrick Kielty announced in July they had split after 13 years of marriage. The couple confirmed the news in a statement, saying: ‘We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.
