<p id=”par-1_21″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/whitney-purvis-denied-entry-at-weston-gosa-jr-s-funeral-differing-accounts-of-what-happened.html/”>Whitney Purvis</a> is under suicide watch at the Georgia jail where she’s currently being held after being arrested for involuntary manslaughter. </p>
<p id=”par-2_38″>The <a href=”http://cheatsheet.com/tag/teen-mom”><em>16 and Pregnant</em></a><em> </em>alum was medically designated and committed after she made suicidal comments, <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/07/08/16-and-pregnant-star-whitney-purvis-suicide-watch-georgia-jail/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TMZ</a> reports. A law enforcement insider also said that she was undergoing a drug detox while behind bars at the Floyd County Jail. </p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>Purvis was arrested on July 7. She is accused of providing “tranq” – a mix of fentanyl and xylazine – to a man named John Mark Harris earlier this year, allegedly leading to his fatal overdose. </p>
<p id=”par-4_12″>Following Harris’ death, Purvis left a lengthy comment on his <a href=”https://www.hendersonandsons.com/obituaries/John-Mark-Harris?obId=37743244″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>online obituary</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-5_61″>“I hate that I found out what happened today and missed your funeral. I wish I could’ve found out sooner and attended your celebration of life. thank you for being such a great friend to me and always making me feel beautiful and cared for,” she wrote. “You’ve came to my rescue on many occasions and saved me over the years.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_44″>Purvis’ arrest came a month after the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/16-and-pregnant-weston-gosa-jr-whitney-purvis-and-weston-gosas-son-dead-at-16.html/”>death of her son, Weston Gosa Jr.</a> Purvis was pregnant with Weston Jr. during her 2009 appearance on the MTV reality series. The 16-year-old was living with his father, Weston Gosa, at the time of his death. </p>
<p id=”par-7_15″>In an interview with <a href=”https://people.com/16-and-pregnant-whitney-purvis-speaks-out-first-interview-after-sons-death-exclusive-11748897″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>, Purvis said she was struggling following her son’s unexpected death. </p>
<p id=”par-8_52″>“When I’m not crying, I’m just staring at the ceiling,” she said. “I never wanted to go through something like this. I mean, I know no one does, but you never think it’ll happen to you, and I just can’t even imagine a future now. I can’t imagine going on after this.”</p>
