After 19 years together, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have separated, TMZ reports. It is heartbreaking news for those who believe in love, but there was a time when the couple was extremely happy, and these photos offer a glimpse into the relationship they had. 

What Went Wrong Between Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban?

When the news of the couple’s split was announced, a source told People, “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another. She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

The pair have been living apart “since the beginning of summer,” TMZ reports. Urban has been living in Nashville, and Kidman has been “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone,” TMZ reports.

The couple married in 2006, making it the second marriage for Kidman, who was previously married to actor Tom Cruise. It was the first marriage for the country singer. 

The way they gazed into each other’s faces at events or at sporting matches was so beautiful, even when they thought the cameras weren’t watching.

Kidman and Urban are also parents to two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. 

Kidman has spoken about Urban with great affection in interviews and at red-carpet events; they always appeared to be happy and in love. 

Their Love Shone So Bright

When discussing her support system in an interview with People in April 2024, she wrote, “I have my sister, mother, nieces, nephews, daughters. I’m raising a soon-to-be 16-year-old and a 13-year-old who are divine. They’re just lovely people and I’m so lucky that I have Keith, who’s just my love, my deep, deep love. That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to.”

It is unclear what went wrong, but as early as June 25, 2025, Kidman posted a sweet picture of herself and her husband on Instagram to celebrate their anniversary.
