Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife, Sam, gave a big f*** you to their critics and embraced for a passionate kiss while attending Wimbledon today.
The couple, who have an age gap of more than 20 years and first began dating when Aaron was just 18, seemed very much in love at the competition.
Within a year of meeting, the couple had confirmed their relationship, got engaged, and announced they had a baby on the way – all under intense speculation due to the maturity gap.
Over the years, both Sam and Aaron have defended their large 24-year age gap, which has continued to be a sore spot in public perception of their relationship, given how young he was when they met.
‘He was very intense and absolutely made up his mind (about us dating)’ the Back to Black director reportedly told E News previously, while he said to The Sunday Independent: ‘I’m an old soul and she’s a young soul.’
The Fifty Shades of Grey director had previously been married to art dealer Jay Jopling for 11 years, sharing two daughters, born in April 1997 and 2005, but they split in 2008.
The couple also has two more daughters together, Wylda and Romy.
Elsewhere at Wimbledon today, actor Benedict Cumberbatch sat in the royal box to watch the action unfold on Centre Court, on day nine of the Wimbledon championships.
Also present was author Bernardine Evaristo, who opted for a colourful dress and headband as she took her royal box seat alongside her agent, Emma Paterson.
Evaristo, 67, made history when she became the first black woman and black British person to win the Booker Prize with her 2019 novel Girl, Woman, Other.
Newlywed K-pop Demon Hunters star Arden Cho also has a spot in the royal box, arriving in the UK shortly after tying the knot with husband Christopher Lee at a lavish wedding in Florence, Italy.
The actress posted a video of herself and her husband travelling to the south-west London grounds on Instagram, telling fans they were ticking an item off Lee’s bucket list.
Stars in the royal box will have some much-needed shelter from the sun as temperatures are expected to hit 30C on another hot day at the championships.
There were several empty seats in Centre Court on Monday as ticket-holders with seats in direct sunlight skipped watching British wild card Arthur Fery beat Grigor Dimitrov to bag a place in the quarter-finals.
