Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty are now married, and the Olympian has not wasted any time changing his name after falling out with his family.
The couple tied the knot at a picture-perfect ceremony, with guests such as the Beckhams and Holly’s famous father, Gordon.
Pictures shared of their big day saw Holly, 25, arrive at Bath Abbey in a huge white cape to disguise her dress from prying eyes.
While the day went swimmingly, a feud erupted just weeks before between Adam and his mum, Caroline, who was reportedly ‘banned’ from the wedding.
Caroline confirmed she would not attempt to gatecrash the ceremony as tensions continued to rise in the lead-up to the big day.
Now, Adam, 31, has changed his Instagram to proudly display his new double-barreled surname with Holly, going by Ramsay Peaty.
The move mimics that of Brooklyn Beckham, who has taken his wife’s surname, Peltz, as his alleged feud with his family continues.
Brooklyn recently blocked his parents and siblings on Instagram, according to Cruz, after almost a year-long estrangement.
While Victoria may not be on good terms with her eldest son, she did attend Holly’s hen do at Soho Farmhouse alongside Tana and Adam’s sister.
This lavish celebration appeared to be in part responsible for the rift, with a family member telling The Sun: ‘We were sent a save the date and it’s all these country houses.
‘I’m on Universal Credit — I can’t afford that. Adam has been changed by money, fame and fortune. He seems to have forgotten where he came from.’
The family claimed Caroline is ‘heartbroken’ and that the swimmer has treated her ‘appallingly’.
Adam later shared a statement responding to tension within his family, which read: ‘Over the past few days, a lot has been reported and comments posted about the private life of Holly and myself.
‘My sister Bethany, has also been targeted. This has been almost entirely one-sided and, in many cases, excessive and intrusive. What makes it worse is that it has been encouraged by members of my family
While tensions have been high with his own family, Adam has credited father-in-law Gordon as helping him escape ‘three years of hell’ struggling with alcoholism.
The celebrity chef, 57, was also there for him when he split from the mother of his son, Eirianedd Munro.
Gordon reportedly assured that his wife Tana, ‘will be a good mum to them both’ during his wedding speech, in a small dig at the family tensions.
Holly and Adam first met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, when he and Holly’s younger sister Matilda were competing, but it was not until 2023 that love blossomed.
Speaking to The Sunday Times of Holly, Adam said: ‘She’s been pinnacle [sic] to this moment in my life where I can have peace and I can have that kind of love where it’s not defined by anything else other than the connection that we have. It’s great, and I look forward to the future.’
