Alan Carr defends himself as ‘unrecognisable’ snaps taken the morning after the Celebrity Traitors finale emerge online.
The star has been on screens across the UK for weeks, with fans becoming very familiar with the 49-year-old chatty man over the past weeks.
However, many were left scratching their heads after seeing photographs of the comedian and presenter without his iconic square glasses on.
In snaps taken of the chat show host while he was out and about in London on November 7, he opted for a cap and went for a chilled out look with jeans and a shacket.
Author Nooruddean Choudry posted the shot of the Celebrity Traitors star with a jokey caption, prompting a response from the star.
‘Alan Carr should legit be a spy. Not only did he win Traitors but just by taking his specs off and not smiling he transforms himself into a man with questionable views on Alan Carr,’ he captioned the image.
Alan quickly came to his own defence, with a comment defending his appearance.
‘I was SO hungover!!! 🤢’ commented Alan on the post.
Stephen Knight also shared the snaps on social media with a similar caption pointing out how unrecgonsiable the star was without his trademark glasses.
‘Nothing lends greater credibility to the Superman/Clark Kent disguise than this paparazzi image of Alan Carr without his glasses,’ he said.
‘No way that’s him! Would never guess in a million years,’ commented barekicks on X.
‘Glasses are his cape,’ said Specsavers.
‘Alan Carr without specs is crazy!,’ said crisfatheroftwo on Instagram.
‘Without the glasses and the teeth it doesn’t look like him.🤣,’ said Catherinej40.
The star has been making headlines since the Celeb Traitors finale, after appearing in Soho in London on the night of the final and taking selfies with fans who shouted ‘Traitor’ at him.
He was joined by fellow contestant Kate Garraway to watch the final, with the public left shocked by the fantastic twist ending.
Just a few days ago it was also revealed Alan ‘saved his friend’s life after she was attacked with a knife’.
Friend Cleo Rocos, 63, was on holiday with Traitors star Alan in Marrakesh, Morocco, when a man jumped out from the dark and grabbed her.
Cleo told The Sun that Alan then ‘slapped the knife out of his hand’ before the attacker had time to react.
