The clip shows Hathaway, now 42, hurriedly brushing her teeth with an electric toothbrush—an upgrade from Andy Sachs’ manual one in the original film—as she gets ready for what fans can only assume is another day in the high-pressure world of fashion publishing.

She’s also wearing a familiar-looking cerulean blue sweater, and her hair is left unkempt—an unmistakable callback to that iconic scene with Miranda Priestly. “Heading to werk #dwp2,” Hathaway captioned the post.

Fans Spot the Cerulean Clue & Go Wild

Despite the clip’s questionably short length, fans instantly caught the reference and flooded the comment section with love and excitement. “It’s not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean,” one user wrote, quoting Miranda’s iconic monologue.

‘DWP2’ Begins Filming in NYC

As per a Backstage report, the filming for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” kicks off in New York City. Grant Wilfley Casting has issued a new call for background talent. The casting agency is seeking NYC-based individuals, aged 22–80, to portray everyday Midtown pedestrians—including tourists, drivers, businesspeople, and joggers. The report states filming is scheduled for July 25 and/or July 28. Which means the curtain has officially risen on production in the heart of New York City.

What to Expect From ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’

According to Variety, Hathaway’s teaser comes on the heels of the official sequel confirmation. Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all set to return. New faces joining the cast include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet.

The sequel will reportedly follow Miranda Priestly as she navigates the fall of traditional publishing—and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a powerful luxury fashion executive controlling the ad dollars Priestly desperately needs. Fans may also see nods to the 2013 book sequel, “Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns”, which sees Priestley re-enter Andy’s life after she’s become a top editor.

When Is ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Releasing?

“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, giving fans just under two years to revisit the original and prep their cerulean sweaters.

After nearly two decades, it’s safe to say the girls (and guys) who got the reference are more than ready.
