On July 2, 2025, a federal jury in the Southern District of New York delivered a mixed verdict in the trial of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The jury acquitted him of serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking but convicted him on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution under the Mann Act. Following the verdict, Judge Arun Subramanian denied bail, citing evidence of past domestic violence and deeming Combs a potential danger. Combs will remain in federal custody until his scheduled sentencing on Oct. 3, 2025. In the wake of the verdict, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day says Combs’ victims called her and worried about what his acquittal means for their safety.

Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day has been among the most vocal critics of Sean “Diddy” Combs in the wake of his federal trial. As someone who says she was once groomed and controlled by Combs, O’Day is now using her platform to demand accountability — accusing him of prioritizing image over responsibility in a case that has laid bare the painful realities of power and abuse.

O’Day spoke on <a href=”https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-amy-robach-tj-holmes-pres-275763815/episode/the-damage-is-done-283883815/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Present: Aubrey O’Day, Covering the Diddy Trial podcast with CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister. O’Day noted that Combs’ alleged victims reached out to her and expressed fear.

“Do you know how many victims called me today, Elizabeth, and said, ‘I’m scared. I’m trying to get somewhere right now,’” O’Day said. “I wasn’t feeling scared to go home, but they were like, ‘I got a call from somebody up high in the industry, and he was like, I wouldn’t post in real time where you are for awhile. Don’t post your home. Don’t post where you’re actually at — post it, like, two or three days later.’ That’s the kind of conversations people are having right now.”

“There are 80 civil suits. What kind of conversations do you think they’re having?” O’Day continued. “What kind of odds do you think they have right now?”

Sean “Diddy” Combs was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking in his federal case. However, the jury found him guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. On her podcast, Aubrey O’Day said she hopes to see Combs serve as many years as possible.

“I want to see what the judge does with the sentencing,” she said. “I think we should be hitting the higher edges of 20. I’m seeing about 18. If I see about 18, I’ll feel like this wasn’t something bigger.”

CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister doesn’t have faith that Combs will receive maximum jail time. She explained how “every one of our legal experts on our air” says they’re looking at “the minimal” numbers of years. This would equal three to five years.
