Rochelle Raye Anthony, who appeared on The Apprentice, has been hospitalised after a suspected stroke.

The 39-year-old entrepreneur shared the news on Instagram with a photo of her hand taken from a hospital bed.

The hand had a cannula attached, and the photo was captioned: ‘Dolls, I am in A&E with a suspected stroke.

‘I am so sorry for any clients I need to reschedule! Please bear with me.’

‘Stress and trauma really are crazy triggers for serious conditions,’ she continued before adding: ‘I have no use of my left arm and left leg.’

Rochelle, who called herself the ‘Kim Kardashian of the business world,’ shot to fame after coming second on The Apprentice series 17 in 2023.

She impressed Lord Sugar with her plans for a hairdressing business but lost out to Marnie Swindells, who planned on opening an inclusive boxing club.

Speaking to Metro at the time, she told us what she’d have done differently if she had her time again.

‘I would have had more models with different types of hair textures. That was something that was really important to me, and I had to choose between going onto the metaverse team or actually being in the advert,’ she explained.

‘Because obviously with limited resources I wasn’t able to get external models in, I didn’t even have time to make my hair how it naturally is. So that was the one thing that I would have changed if I could have.’

What are the symptoms of a stroke?

The NHS outlines that the symptoms of a stroke can be remembered by using the acronym FAST, which stands for Face, Arms, Speech and Time.

When an individual suffers a stroke, they may not be able to smile, their face may have dropped to one side, or their mouth or eye may have dropped.

They may not be able to lift both of their arms and keep them up, as one of their arms could be feeling weak or numb.

They may exhibit slurred or unclear speech, or be unable to talk at all and have difficulty understanding if someone else is speaking to them.

People are urged to call 999 if any of these symptoms are spotted.

The charity Stroke Association offers a helpline for anyone who has suffered or been affected by stroke, or if you want further information. You can call the helpline on 0303 3033 100 or email helpline@stroke.org.uk.

Still, Rochelle didn’t quit after her loss, and she’s grown her Milton Keynes salon, The Dolls House, into a successful business.

This isn’t the first time Rochelle has shared her health problems. In 2024, she revealed that she’d endured a fortnight of severe pain before finally visiting the doctors.

There, they discovered two large gallstones lodged in her bile duct, which were too large to pass naturally.

Rochelle required specialist treatment to have the stones removed.
