Longtime “As The World Turns” fans are in mourning as one of the show’s great icons, Eileen Fulton, has sadly passed away. She was known as the originator of the “vixen” trope thanks to her role in the soap opera. Eileen Fulton played Lisa Miller on the series from 1960 until 2010. Eileen was 91.

According to her obituary, Elieen passed away on July 14 in Asheville, North Carolina. Her death came after what her family referred to as a period of declining health. Notably, Eileen Fulton is from Asheville and was born on September 13, 1933. She retired from acting in 2019 after a long and memorable career in Hollywood. She was born Margaret Elizabeth McLarty.

Eileen Fulton made a significant mark on Hollywood. This is especially the case when it comes to the world of soap operas. Naturally, this has led many fans to take to the internet to celebrate her life and achievements. 

One “As The World Turns” fan, Team Johnny Dimera, did this with a post on X. The person wrote, “I’m truly saddened by the passing of Eileen Fulton. Her role as Lisa Hughes on As the World Turns was unforgettable. She was one of a kind, and her loss leaves a big hole in our hearts. She will be deeply missed.”

Tommy Lightfoot Garrett, who had met Eileen Fulton, also tributed her on the X platform. They wrote, “Eileen Fulton, Longtime ‘Bad Girl’ Lisa on ‘As the World Turns,’ Dies at 91. Eileen invited me to be her special guest at Feinstein’s, where we took this picture.”

Another fan, Daemon ONeil, also mourned her death. According to them, “Terrible news on a Saturday. Eileen Fulton, who played Lisa Miller Hughes on my soap opera #AsTheWorldTurns for more than 50 years, has passed away aged 91. A phenomenal actress and a Daytime legend.”


The ‘As The World Turns’ Star Leaves Behind a Great Legacy

Eileen Fulton may be most known for her iconic role on “As The World Turns,” but her legacy stretches beyond the show. According to IMDb, her first television appearance was in 1959 on a show called “True Story.” Eileen was on for two episodes. 

Notably, Eileen also starred in the spin-off of “As The World Turns,” called “Our Private World.” The show lasted for one season. Her last credited role came in 2011 with “The Life Zone.” She leaves behind her brother and niece, as well as their respective children.
