Rockers Biffy Clyro have been left fuming after ‘some genius’ fumbled their work visa applications, leaving them unable to tour.

The group had been due to start a series of intimate gigs in the United States on December 2, supporting their 10th album Futique.

Frontman Simon Neil took to Instagram, visibly frustrated and using plenty of expletives, to explain the unfortunate mix-up to fans.

‘Some genius put the wrong start date into our work visa, so when we received our visas in the last couple of days, we realised it doesn’t begin until after our tour is meant to finish,” he said in the video.

‘We are so angry about this. We’ve been in touch with four or five immigration lawyers, we’ve been in touch with Congress.’

Sadly, despite all these appeals, there is nothing ‘any of them can do to help’.

He added: ‘I’m incredibly embarrassed and truly, truly, sorry to postpone these shows.’

The A Little Love singers are hoping to reschedule the dates for early next year, potentially in April or May, with current tickets honoured.

‘I completely understand if you want to get refunds and you’ve lost faith in us,’ Simon continued.

He acknowledged that fans may have bought flights or accommodation in order to see them and could now be out of pocket.

Simon shared they were ‘so angry’ as last time they were meant to play LA, he caught Covid so the show also was scrapped.

He joked that the Scottish group were ‘slightly cursed’ when it came to playing in America but had to ‘keep the faith’.

‘I get it and I’d be raging at us too,’ Simon said and signed off: ‘You can’t be any madder at us than I am… Thanks for your time and sorry for wasting it.’

The band have been a staple of the rock genre since the 00s, with big hits such as Many of Horror and Bubbles breaking through.

Many of Horror saw a second life as Christmas number one under the name of When We Collide, a cover version by X Factor winner Matt Cardle in 2010.

Biffy Clyro have eight Top Five albums, with their latest album, Futique, marking a reunion after four years away.

They first played a secret show under their original name Screwfish at Glasgow’s SWG3 before taking to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2025 ahead of headliner The 1975.

Recently, the group announced their biggest ever headlining show at London’s Finsbury Park, set to take place next July.
