In Vogue’s August cover story featuring Hathaway, Cooper shared that he, Hathaway, and her husband, Adam Shulman, developed a meaningful bond as fellow parents.

The trio grew close during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when they were part of what Vogue called “one of the world’s most glamorous COVID pods.”

“She’s very present and grounded… viciously intelligent.” Cooper also praised Hathaway and Shulman’s relationship, calling their marriage “an emblem for that kind of commitment” and saying it’s clear they “enrich each other.”

Anne Reflects on Her Friendship with Cooper

Anne Hathaway offered a glimpse into their growing friendship while honoring Bradley Cooper at the National Board of Review gala in January 2024.

Reflecting on their bond, she told the crowd: “Bradley and I became friends during the pandemic when he invited my family over for pizza, which I have to mention, he made himself.”

She went on to describe the moment with affection and admiration: “As I watched Bradley make pizza for, like, 20 adults and countless clamoring children, never breaking his rhythm, focus, or his connection to whomever he was speaking with, I was struck by how rare a creature Bradley is.”

While Hathaway is open about motherhood, she remains deeply protective of her son’s privacy. In a 2023 interview with Porter, she emphasized the importance of allowing children to develop their own identities, free from public pressure.

“My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives,” she explained. She’s rarely shared images or details about her kids, instead focusing on how motherhood has shaped her from the inside out.
