While speaking with PEOPLE about the latest season of the Netflix hit, the 36-year-old actress admitted she didn’t always relate to Georgia’s intense personality.

Brianne Howey Says Motherhood Changed How She Sees Georgia

“Prior to having a child, of course, I thought many of the Georgia-isms were absolutely insane and unhinged and over the top, and why is she taking up so much space?” she said.

That all changed after she gave birth to her daughter in June 2023.

“Now that I have a child, I am so obsessed with her that I understand why Georgia is so obsessed with Ginny, and my heart only got bigger and I just have even more respect for all the moms out there.”

She announced the arrival of her baby girl with a heartfelt post on Instagram, cradling her newborn in her arms.

“My whole world just got a whole lot sweeter. And smaller,” she captioned the photo. “Welcome my little love 💛.”

Brianne Shared Her Real Birth Story in a Netflix Scene

Motherhood didn’t just affect Howey’s personal life—it made its way into her acting, too.

In an interview with DC Film Girl, she revealed that a scene in the Netflix film “Kinda Pregnant” was based on her real-life birth story. The idea came from her co-star Amy Schumer.

“Amy [Schumer] called me the night before and said, ‘Why is nobody talking about their birth stories?’ So that’s what we did,” Howey remembered. “Then the next day, we went to set and that’s my real birth story, actually.”

The scene is raw and emotional. “Everything went awry. I started bleeding out a lot. And [my baby] was on my chest, so I was actually in heaven. I was so fine. But I guess what was happening wasn’t okay. I was just losing a lot, a lot of blood. And it was the first time I saw [my husband] Steve scared.”

Schumer’s character asks, “Did you think you were gonna, like, die?” Howey replies, “Maybe.”

“So it was a really intimate, kind of in the moment felt a little bit risky, but very safe at the same time because it was just me and Amy,” she added. “And I’m so grateful to her for wanting to take a swing and really go big with that scene.”

Season 3 of “Ginny & Georgia” kicks off right where it left off — with Georgia getting arrested for murder at her wedding. And from that shocking moment, things only spiral further. You can start streaming the new season now.
