Warning: spoilers ahead for the Celebrity Traitors season 2 finale on BBC One.
The Celebrity Traitors season 2 grand finale has finally come to an end, revealing who went home with the huge £83,000 jackpot prize for charity.
Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft were the final two players standing, and as Faithfuls, that meant that they split the money for their charitable causes.
They jumped with joy and hugged as they revealed to each other that they were both Faithfuls, and therefore won the game together. It was one of the wildest finales ever, and many fans were elated by the result.
‘Although I am usually Team Traitor, I am SO GLAD Bash and Romesh won! Well well well deserved!’ fan Kat said on X.
‘I’ve got tears in my eyes. The perfect two to win. Love the love between Romesh and Bash,’ PC shared.
The episode began with a brutal murder, as Michael Sheen was chosen by Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny for the chopping block.

Following a high-octane challenge, where Maya, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft hung from helicopters, the group set off explosives and bagged another £18,500, it was time for the final roundtable.
It was intense, with Maya fighting for her life under intense scrutiny – and sadly for this season’s Queen Traitor, Maya was banished, with the deciding vote coming from her fellow backstabbing Traitor Kenny. However, at this point in the competition, she didn’t reveal whether she was a Faithful or a Traitor.
Later on in the evening, the remaining five players faced the final round of voting, deciding whether to end the game or to keep voting until only trusted players remained.
Sadly for Leigh-Anne in the first round of voting, she received four out of five votes, and was banished from the final five.
In the next round, Kenny and James Blunt received the same number of votes, meaning that it was up to Romesh and Bash who would stay. They decided that Kenny had to be banished – meaning that there were no Traitors remaining in the final.
While they could have ended as a three, James decided to do one more vote, and he became the final player to be banished.
It’s been an eventful series to say the least. Last year’s show turned it into a phenomenon, thanks largely to Alan Carr’s stellar run as an obvious yet incredible Traitor.
So this year, the pressure was on to ensure that the second outing matched the enormously high bar set by the first.
The season started off hilariously strong after acting legend Richard E Grant inadvertently told everyone that he was a Traitor. Despite his slip-up, it took ridiculously long for the majority of the Faithfuls to actually decide to banish him.
James Acaster was recruited as a Traitor by Maya and Richard against his wishes, and then later, after Richard’s exit, it was Professor Hannah Fry’s turn to enter the Turret. Following Hannah’s banishment, new recruit Kenny became the final member of the devious trio.
Some Faithfuls had gotten close to guessing the Traitors, such as Miranda Hart when she felt the floorboards move during a challenge when Maya had to take off her blindfold and move around the room.
Bash also brought up Maya’s name, while Leigh-Anne tried to get the Faithfuls to start to think more about players who’d been going under the radar, rather than accusing the loudest voices at the roundtable.
James A’s declaration that he was a Traitor in the penultimate episode threw a huge spanner in the works, making people question whether he’d broken the rules of the show, given he swore to not reveal his identity when he agreed to host Claudia Winkleman’s Traitor’s Oath.

While many fans were angry that James’ announcement influenced the roundtable, given there wasn’t another banishment vote following his exit, others defended his decision, arguing that he had continued to play a game that was true to himself as a reluctant Traitor.
James later opened up about his choice, saying: ‘The idea of doing that got me through the whole experience because you feel as a Traitor sometimes, when you see people have real-life reactions that are bigger than the game, you feel bad.
‘I would have to remind myself they don’t have a game without you, literally, if no one’s doing this stuff, they can’t play, and they all want to play.
‘So you are doing an important job here, so they all have something to do, and when they catch you, they’ll be really happy and they’ll like it, and it will feel good to just tell them and see that reaction.’
While it’ll likely be another year until the next season of Celebrity Traitors airs, fortunately the civilian series of The Traitors is going to be back very soon, with season five launching in January 2027.
Celebrity Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
