He revealed that while he may have lost a significant amount of weight during his battle with two different forms of cancer, that doesn’t mean he isn’t doing well. Coulier said that, despite his weight loss, his prognosis remains good and that his PET scans continue to look promising.</p>

<p id=”par-3_94″>As for why he lost so much weight and why his voice has changed, he blamed the radiation that was used to treat his throat cancer. Coulier noted that despite being a life-saving treatment, radiation is particularly tough. Thirty-five rounds left him unable to eat solid food for months, which led to a 45-pound weight loss. He said the treatments also altered his voice, though it’s unclear if that will change with time. Coulier announced he was in remission during an interview back in February, and his recent update suggests that has not changed.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-what-type-of-cancer-does-dave-coulier-have”>What type of cancer does Dave Coulier have?</h2>
<p id=”par-4_50″>Dave Coulier’s cancer battle began in 2024, when he announced he had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Coulier said he received the diagnosis just a week after noticing a lump in his groin following an illness he assumed was the flu. He went into remission following chemotherapy treatment months later.</p>
<p id=”par-5_55″>While Coulier was enjoying his remission, it wasn’t for long. During a six-month check-up doctors noticed a concerning change. A PET scan revealed a spot in Coulier’s throat, and he was subsequently diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of HPV-related cancer. The carcinoma diagnosis is completely unrelated to the lymphoma he had previously battled.</p>
<p id=”par-6_47″>Coulier underwent 35 rounds of radiation for his second cancer battle. In February 2026, he announced he was in remission and that things were looking up. While he has kept a mostly low profile since that announcement, he has been appearing at various events here and there.</p>
