<p id=”par-1_59″>When Dave Grohl and his <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/celebrity-relationships/?swcfpc=1″>wife</a>, Jordyn Blum, met in 2001, he didn’t think he had a chance with her. It didn’t help that the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/music/”>musician</a> referred to her as his “future ex-wife” in their first conversation. Blum didn’t seem to mind, though. When she gave him her number at the end of the night, she adopted the title. </p>

<p id=”par-2_25″>Grohl and Blum met at a bar in 2001. He was there with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/taylor-hawkins-getting-back-track-health-death-telling-friends-trainer-gaining-weight.html/”>his bandmate, Taylor Hawkins</a>, when she and a friend approached the table.</p>

Taylor and I were hanging out at the Sunset Marquis whiskey bar,” he told Q Magazine (per <a target=”_blank” href=”http://www.fooarchive.com/gpb/qinterview07.htm” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Foo Archive</a>). “Taylor was the looker. I mean, girls would send him drinks. Some bombshell comes up and starts talking to Taylor. I was just out of a Tenacious D session. I’ve got Vans trainers on, no socks, dirty shorts, and a dirty T-shirt, surrounded by beautiful Hollywood. She waved her friend Jordyn over. I was like, ‘Oh my God. Not a chance!’”</p>

<p id=”par-4_21″>After several drinks, Grohl felt comfortable enough to refer to Blum as his “future ex-wife.” She took the comment in stride.</p>
<p id=”par-5_45″>“So I’m just having some drinks and acting like a jack**,” he said. “And by the end of the night I was pissed and I’m staring at her going, ‘You’re my future ex-wife.’ [Laughs uproariously] So she gave me her number: ‘Jordyn, your future ex-wife.’”</p>

<p id=”par-6_19″>Grohl and Blum went on a few dates, but he began to worry that things were <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dave-grohls-wife-never-thought-hear-stopped-calling-dating.html/?swcfpc=1″>getting too serious</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-7_59″>“When I first met my wife, we went out on a few dates and I decided that I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship, so I just stopped calling,” he told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/a9165/victorias-secret-sexiest-women-dupe2/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Elle</a>. “After three months, I had a revelation and called her back. She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.’”</p>
<p id=”par-8_24″>They rekindled their relationship and, in 2003, married at their Los Angeles home. In the years since their wedding, they have <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/many-children-foo-fighters-dave-grohl.html/”>welcomed three daughters</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-9_21″>Grohl and Blum’s relationship recently hit a rough patch. This week, he announced that he fathered a child outside their marriage. </p>
<p id=”par-10_53″>“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” he wrote on Instagram, adding, “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”</p>
