After two years of red carpets, engagement rumours and increasingly loved-up social media posts, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have officially become husband and wife.
The pop superstar and Hollywood actor quietly tied the knot in London on May 31 in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends in Marylebone, bringing to an end months of speculation about when they would finally walk down the aisle.
Now, the couple has landed in Sicily, where they’re throwing a lavish three-day wedding across various venues in the Sicilian capital of Palermo.
Palatial residence Villa Valguarnera is thought to be at the center of the exciting weekend’s festivities, with the city already being flooded with guests.
Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Olivia Dean, and Elton John are among the A-list guests expected to make appearances at the nuptials.
While the couple has kept much of their relationship private, we’ve gotten regular peaks into their relationship since they first met in 2024.
How did Dua Lipa and Callum Turner meet?
Like all the best love stories, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s romance began with a near miss.
The couple first officially met at London’s famed River Cafe, where Dua was having dinner with her father, and Turner was eating with friends.
They were introduced by the restaurant’s co-founder, Ruth Rogers, but later discovered their paths had been crossing for years without either of them realising it.
‘There’s a lot of Sliding Doors moments,’ Dua revealed to Vogue.
One of those moments dates back to 2014, when the singer was working at Soho hotspot La Bodega Negra. Years later, the pair discovered there was a photograph of Turner outside the same venue from that exact period.
Then there was a pre-lockdown party in 2020 that both attended. Where, afterwards, they realised they had photographs from the same event taken just an hour apart, with the same person appearing in the background.
‘We have so many friends in common,’ Dua said. If all that wasn’t enough to convince fate to step in, their actual meeting came with what sounds suspiciously like a rom-com screenwriter showing off.
In 2024, they ran into each other at an LA restaurant and, according to Turner, discovered they were reading the same book. ‘We sat next to each other and realised we were reading the same book,’ he recalled.
That book was Trust by Hernan Diaz, the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about power, wealth, and marriage in 1920s New York. Turner told Dua he had just finished the first chapter.
Her response? She had too. ‘So we’re on the same page,’ he replied.
Somewhere, Richard Curtis probably threw his laptop out of a window.
January 2024: The rumours begin
The first whispers of a romance emerged in early 2024 when Dua, 30, was spotted attending an afterparty for Turner’s Apple TV+ war drama Masters of the Air in Los Angeles.
The pair were reportedly introduced through mutual friends and quickly hit it off.
At the time, neither publicly addressed the rumours, but fans began scrutinising every sighting for clues that something more than friendship was developing.
Turner, now 36, had recently split from fellow actor Vanessa Kirby after a four-year relationship, while Dua had spent much of 2023 focused on her music and the release of album Radical Optimism.
Spring 2024: Spotted together across the globe
Over the following months, sightings became increasingly frequent.
The pair were photographed together in Los Angeles, London, and Paris, although they continued to avoid publicly discussing their relationship.
Unlike many celebrity couples who hard-launch after a handful of dates, Dua and Callum appeared content letting the rumours simmer.
July 2024: The Glastonbury hard launch
The relationship was finally confirmed during Glastonbury Festival in 2024.
After months of speculation, Dua shared photographs from the weekend that showed the pair looking unmistakably coupled-up, even holding hands.
It was the celebrity equivalent of changing your Facebook status in 2011, and fans immediately declared the relationship official and began workshopping possible couple names.
Autumn 2024: Becoming each other’s biggest supporters
As the months passed, the relationship appeared to grow increasingly serious.
Turner was regularly spotted supporting Dua during performances and industry events, while she attended premieres and screenings connected to his acting projects.

The couple made their first major official appearance together at the 2025 Met Gala.
Walking the famous Metropolitan Museum steps side-by-side effectively confirmed what everybody already knew.

June 2025: Engagement confirmed
After months of fans scrutinising photographs of a suspiciously prominent ring, Dua finally confirmed she and Turner were engaged.
Speaking to British Vogue, she described the engagement as deeply personal and focused on their future together.
She said of the engagement ‘It’s very exciting,’ explaining Turner had the ring made for her with the help of her best friends and her sister.
‘I’m obsessed with it.’ She said of the ring, ‘It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.’
The announcement was greeted with excitement from fans, many of whom had spent months convinced wedding bells were imminent.
Late 2025: Wedding speculation intensifies
Throughout the second half of 2025, engagement speculation gradually evolved into wedding speculation.
The pair continued travelling together, attending events as a couple and sharing occasional glimpses of their relationship online.
However, neither revealed any concrete wedding plans.
May 2026: Dua and Callum say ‘I do’
On May 31, 2026, the couple quietly married at London’s historic Old Marylebone Town Hall.
Rather than opting for a huge celebrity wedding, they chose an intimate civil ceremony attended by a small group of loved ones.
Dua wore a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture ivory skirt suit paired with a dramatic Stephen Jones hat, white gloves and Christian Louboutin heels.
Turner opted for a tailored navy suit.
Reports suggest the London ceremony was only the beginning, with a larger three-day celebration expected to follow in Sicily.
For Dua, whose previous high-profile relationships included links to Anwar Hadid, Trevor Noah and Jack Harlow, the wedding marks the start of an entirely new chapter.
