Ellen DeGeneres and wife Porta De Rossi ‘living the dream’ in English countryside

Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi have taken very well to English living – if the TV stars’ recent intimate snaps are anything to go by.

The American talkshow host, 67, and her sitcom actor partner, 52, moved to the Cotswolds after the re-election of President Donald Trump in 2024.

After leaving California, they set themselves up in the English countryside, and showed off their sprawling new home to their followers on social media.

Their new life, far away from the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles, has seen them focus on gardening and tending to a small farm on their property.

And as if their country house life wasn’t blissful enough, Portia has spent a lot of her time riding horses, which Ellen says she couldn’t live without.

In a new post on Instagram, Ellen shared a video highlight reel of the Arrested Development actress tending to a horse and riding it down sun-kissed country lanes.

The video also shows Portia riding her gorgeous steed into a small village and past a nearby church, as well as galloping through farmland near their home.

Ellen captioned her post: ‘Portia’s living her dream riding her horse through the English countryside and into the village. Gosh I hope she comes home soon.’

Appropriately, Taylor Swift – who has been dubbed a ‘horse girl’ by her fans everywhere – is playing over the top of the video, with her song August chosen for the soundtrack.

In the comments, SarahParryJonesArt said: ‘So glad you’re both settling into the beautiful Cotswold countryside. You are both living the best life and we’re happy you’re here.’

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the Ellen Show star explained that Portia needed to know there was a ‘horse facility’ before making the move across the Atlantic.

‘When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses. We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.

While it is still technically their ‘new home’, according to the Journal, the couple have already reportedly put their Cotswolds Kitesbridge Farm on the market.

The move comes after they made significant renovations while staying there.

Ellen’s new post has arrived just a few days after she and Portia celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, with the two having tied the knot at their former home in Beverly Hills.

On Instagram, she captioned a post dedicated to their celebration: ‘Happy 17th anniversary of the best day of my life. Portia, I love you more everyday.’

In 2010, shortly after their wedding, Portia – who was born Amanda Lee Rogers – successfully petitioned to change her legal name to Porta Lee James DeGeneres.
