Looks like there’s a new James Bond in town, and he’s got a Golden Boot, license to dribble.
Harry Kane has unofficially entered the 007 race after posting a series of AI-generated images that reimagine the England captain as James Bond.
In one, he’s in a tuxedo, encircled by red lasers mid–art heist. In another, he’s parachuting over London (still in the tux), cracking open a briefcase to reveal… not state secrets, but a pair of gleaming gold football boots.
There’s also a snowmobile chase, a helicopter stunt, and the kind of dead-serious face that says: ‘The name’s Kane. Harry Kane.’
The post, which the Bayern Munich star captioned: ‘Ad. Living out my action hero dreams with a little help from Gemini! 🚁 Try it yourself – prompt’s in the post,’ has left fans amused, bewildered, and maybe just a little worried about phonecalls from their parents saying, ‘Did you see Harry Kane was hanging from a helicopter?! No, love, it’s true, I saw a photo!’
Kane’s timing couldn’t be better. The real-world hunt for the next Bond is heating up again, with Masters of the Air star Callum Turner — engaged to Dua Lipa — emerging as the new favourite to inherit Daniel Craig’s tuxedo.
Bookies at Coral have slashed his odds to 7-4, overtaking Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Theo James (both at 3-1), while Henry Cavill, James Norton, and Martin Compston linger further down the leaderboard.
With Dune’s Denis Villeneuve reportedly directing and Peaky Blinders’ Steven Knight writing, the next instalment of Bond is an exciting and nerve-wracking new chapter for the legacy franchise.
Meanwhile, Kane’s foray into the world of espionage has fans joking he might just skip football altogether.
Sure, he might not have the Aston Martin or the martini, but the man already knows how to stay cool under pressure and strike when it matters most.
So, while the bookies haven’t added his name to the odds yet, don’t count him out entirely.
At this rate, the next Bond film might open not with a gun barrel, but a penalty spot.
