But for his widow, Erika Kirk, the pain is likely as fresh as it was the moment she found out about her husband’s death.
Now, Erika’s friend, journalist Megyn Kelly, is offering new revelations about the days leading up to Charlie’s murder — and a journalist’s prank that left the couple badly “rattled.”

Kirks were deeply upset over ‘curse’ stunt, Kelly claims
Several days before Kirk’s death, the feminist news and humor site Jezebel ran a tongue-in-cheek article titled “We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.”
After Kirk’s murder, the site amended the article to clarify that it was intended as a joke, and the piece has since been removed entirely.
But Kelly is still furious that it was ever published at all, and on the latest episode of her Sirius XM radio show, she railed against both Jezebel and Etsy:
“This is what I want you all, and the people at Jezebel and Etsy, to know,” Kelly fumed, according to the New York Post.

“Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses and that news genuinely rattled Erika, in particular,” Kelly continued, adding:
“She knew Christian teaching on the subject, she loved Charlie, absolutely, and she was scared when she heard of the curses Jezebel had culled up.”
From there, Meghan asked what Jezebel hoped to gain by publishing the article.
“Why torture a family like this, a Christian believing family?” Kelly said.

“Why do this vile thing to a young couple, parents to two babies living in accordance with the gospel, deeply in love, and yes, political, but doing nothing other than speaking publicly about their views and their desires to make other people’s lives better?” she continued.
“Who would do such a vile thing? Jezebel, that’s who, and unbelievably, Etsy. And the people behind this evil should be called out.”
Kelly concluded her rant by demanding an apology from both Jezebel and Etsy.
“Both entities should issue an immediate full-throated apology to Erika Kirk for introducing this awfulness into her beautiful family and causing her or Charlie any distress whatsoever in what would be the waning hours of his life,” she said.
Neither Jezebel nor Etsy has publicly responded to Kelly’s remarks, likely recognizing that the professional provocateur was simply doing what she does best by drumming up outrage.
