Jessie J is back in the hospital just six weeks after undergoing breast cancer surgery.
The singer, 37, took to her Instagram Stories to share that she had returned to the hospital after experiencing symptoms that initially pointed to a possible blood clot in her lung.
“6 weeks post-surgery, and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned.” Jessie wrote alongside a photo of her arm with tubes attached to the IV.
The “Price Tag” hitmaker added that she has symptoms of a blood clot in the lung. But after several tests, it was confirmed to be an infection.
“I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot in the lung,” she continued. “IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT, THANK GOD. They ran a lot of tests, which ended up showing that I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs.”
Jessie admitted she “hates being in a hospital,” so she discharged herself and opted to continue treatment as an outpatient.

In another post, the singer opened up about her struggles and how her illness impacted her parenting.
“The recovery physically is far from quick or easy, and mentally it’s been the most challenging time for me,” Jessie wrote. “Especially as a Mum with a toddler and being unable to be the mother I usually am. And having to change the plans for my career for this year has been frustrating after working so hard to get to this point, and excited to do it all.”
And while getting the all clear was “incredible,” Jessie noted that it didn’t “speed up” or “make the recovery from the surgery any easier physically.”

Amid her ongoing health crisis, Jessie made an important realization. In another post, the singer reminded herself to slow down.
“This isn’t a speedy recovery. And it isn’t meant to be,” she added. “That slow pace has been a hard reality to accept tbh. I love moving and working and being up and active, but I can’t be right now, and that’s what it is.”
