‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers
Episode 1 begins with Belly heading off to college at Finch, where she joins Jeremiah, whom she was dating when season 2 left off. The lovebirds can’t get enough of each other, as one scene where Jeremiah begs for “5 more minutes” in Belly’s dorm bed proves.
The story then skips ahead to the end of the school year, and Conrad is dreading returning to Cousins Beach as summer approaches. A look at his inner thoughts during a therapy session show him grimacing at the idea of seeing Belly by Jeremiah’s side, but he tries to push the image out of his head.

While taking her passport photo for Paris, Belly remembers in a flashback how Conrad showed up to the Cousins house while she was staying there alone over Christmas.
So why did Jeremiah cheat on Belly? “I was really sad, I was drunk, and she was just there,” he explains to Belly. “How could you do this to me?” Belly cries, as Jeremiah reveals he slept with Lacie Barone two times during his trip.
Jeremiah begs for her back, saying, “Belly please. I know I don’t deserve you but I love you more than anyone else in the world. Meanwhile, Belly’s parents, Laurel and John, run into each other at a lit conference and start to rekindle their spark, slipping away to the gym with a bottle of wine.
An argument with Taylor distracts Steven’s driving and he lands in the hospital. Belly debates on calling Jeremiah, before turning around to realize he is already there.
