We have our first glimpse inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding – and it all looked very glam.
Yesterday, the Grammy-winning pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, tied the knot in what can only be described as the wedding of the century.
With anyone who is anyone in attendance, the global superstars married at world-famous arena Madison Square Garden in New York City on a bustling 4th of July weekend.
Ed Sheeran, Hugh Grant, Jay-Z, Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, and 1,000 more guests were invited to celebrate the lovebirds, who got engaged last summer after two years of dating.
The ceremony was officiated by comedy actor Adam Sandler because, well, why would the A-list couple of a generation opt for anything else?
Despite the overwhelming interest surrounding the nuptials, and as fans and reporters camped outside the venue to catch a look at the arrivals, the whole thing was very hush-hush, with those invited forced to sign NDAs to keep everything top secret – until now.
Taking to Instagram after the lavish celebrations, some guests revealed how Taylor and Travis transformed the concert and sports arena into their dream wedding venue.
Personal trainer Rob Jordan and his wife, Joann Jordan, shared photos of themselves entering and walking up a grand red-carpeted staircase.
You’d be forgiven for mistaking it for the Met Gala, as it certainly didn’t resemble the space where boxing matches and basketball games are held.
The velvet stairs were surrounded by flowing pink curtains, and security dressed in all black lined either side.
In her caption, Joann penned: ‘An unforgettable evening in New York celebrating the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for our dear friends, Travis and Taylor.’
‘Love was in the air, the city was magical, and every detail was simply unforgettable!✨🥂🌹’, she added.
In the comments, fans were full of compliments for the ‘stunning’ pair, who held hands as they made their way into the ceremony, Rob in a suit and Joann in an emerald gown.
Although some wanted to know how they managed to sneak the snap, given the restrictions.
An insider told People ahead of the day that even loved ones weren’t allowed to take their phones into MSG, adding: ‘Guests have been told there will be a phone check upon arrival.’
But, fortunately for these two guests, no rules were broken, as Joann replied to a comment to say that she and her husband took photos ‘at the hotel’, and their phones were ‘gone before [they] even made it upstairs’.
Additionally, country singer Maren Morris shared her own snaps, posing alongside Kelsea Ballerini before making their way to the wedding.
Her post, captioned with the Love Story lyric, ‘Baby, just say yes,’ included a look at one of the gifts guests were given – a handkerchief embroidered with the date, city, T&T initials, and a line from Taylor’s song Blank Space: ‘So it’s gonna be forever…’
As for the rest of the arena transformation, according to AMC CEO Adam Aron, MSG resembled a ‘secret garden’ for Taylor and Travis to say ‘I do’, with sweet personal nods to their childhoods.
In a since-deleted X post, he wrote: ‘It did not look like Madison Square Garden. Immediately upon entry, everything… floors, walls, ceilings… was draped in peach and white.
‘Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display.’
He continued: ‘A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space. Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat.
‘Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs. They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small. Everything was close.’
He went on to describe the ceremony itself as ’emotional’, as the bride and groom were clearly ‘soulmates’.
‘Long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing explorations by each as to how they met, why they want to be with each other for all eternity, the promises they made in joining their much-beloved two whole families (Kelce’s and Swift’s) as one, and committing to their new mutual life together,’ he revealed.
It’s believed that the pair were officially declared husband and wife at exactly 7:30pm, when screens outside the venue lit up with ads reading ‘JUST&T MARRIED!’
Taylor’s publicist has confirmed, too, that they were dressed in Christian Dior for their big day.
And while fans speculated that Gigi Hadid could have been a bridesmaid, given that Taylor was spotted getting ready at the model’s apartment that morning, it was later revealed that she and Travis chose to defy tradition.
There were, in fact, no bridesmaids. Instead, Taylor’s brother, Austin, was her ‘man of honour’, while Travis’s brother, Jason, was his best man.
Jason’s young daughters were flower girls, and it’s believed they tossed petals at Taylor’s feet while she walked down the aisle, with a string quartet playing one of her own songs.
Celebrations lasted long into the night before photographers captured stars exiting in black cars, with Graham Norton, Millie Bobby Brown, Tom Brady, Jessica Alba, Phoebe Dynevor, and Conan O’Brien visibly partied out after the multi-million-dollar extravaganza.
