Just when you thought Britain’s Got Talent had given us everything, AI came along.

The new series kicks off this weekend with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, and Alesha Dixon returning as judges, while Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly host following the end of Saturday Night Takeaway’s 20th series.

Thousands of auditionees will showcase their skills and talents to the panel in the hopes of winning the cash prize and a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Show.

One act that’s already had people talking is the singing group RASK AI, who use artificial intelligence to poke fun at the panel by transforming them into film characters.

In a stroke of genius, the tech was used to edit the stars’ faces onto characters from The Greatest Showman, including Zac Efron, Hugh Jackman, and Zendaya.

The group then belted out the title track from the 2017 movie musical, much to the amusement of the crowd.

All of the judges bar Simon, 64, gave them a standing ovation, with the likes of Alesha and Amanda in fits of laughter after the results of the AI manipulation were revealed.

RASK AI transformed Simon into Hugh’s ringmaster, while Amanda, 53, became Keala Settle’s bearded lady.

The 2024 series of BGT marks its 17th outing on our TV screens.

While long-time viewers might worry that they’re running low on talent, it seems that’s far from the case.

In fact, the rules were flipped on their head again this year.

The longest-serving judge Amanda was so impressed she felt compelled to hit the golden buzzer twice for one performer, sending them through to the live shows.

In a sweet moment, Amanda said the auditionee reminded her of her own start in the entertainment industry.

‘It just felt how I was when I was starting out, she’d done some bits and bobs or whatever. I was lucky I went on to work, but she’s just not had that break she deserves,’ she explained.

‘The version of the song she sang was so amazing, and considering how many people have done it, for it to have had such an impact, it really affected me,’ she enthused.

‘I was blown away by her and I really hope this is going to give her a kickstart to a career that she’s destined to have.’

Paying the ultimate compliment, Amanda shared that the unknown artist had ‘Adele vibes’.

‘I said to Simon that she had Adele vibes because she was really down to earth, very funny,’ Amanda recalled.

‘I thought she was going to do stand-up when she came on. So she was a little diamond, a little bit rough around the edges, but super charming, very charismatic, very relatable. I thought, “God, she’s a little star”.’

Britain’s Got Talent airs tonight on ITV1 and ITVX.
