Si King wore a brave smile as he was seen publicly for the first time since the death of his friend and Hairy Bikers co-star Dave Myers.

Fans have been in mourning since TV star Myers sadly died on February 28, aged 66.

Myers slipped away peacefully with his wife Liliana Orzac, 57, and his long-time pal Si, also 57, by his side, two years after being diagnosed with cancer.

Si has kept a low profile since his loss but looked optimistic while sitting outside a café.

The cookery show host was joined by an old friend and work colleague, Nicole Kavanagh-Stubbs, who was also seen leaving his hotel (Groucho Club) with him with overnight bags before getting the train back up North.

Nicole appeared to be comforting Si after the death of his beloved Myers, no stranger to grief herself after her teenage son Lewis Stubbs was killed in a tragic aeroplane accident in 2019 in the French Alps.

She and Si have always been close, and he will no doubt be glad to have her to lean on through his grief.

Si cut a casual figure in denim, wearing matching a jeans and jacket combo with a sweater underneath.

He appeared in high spirits as he and Nicole chatted, tucking into lunch.

At one point, Si generously stopped to take photos with an adoring fan.

Si’s outing comes after he admitted it felt ‘really strange’ to carry on working without Myers by his side.

In a message to fans before voting closed for a prestigious prize, he spoke candidly about persevering after such a devastating loss.

He wrote on X: ‘Dave and I were so chuffed to be nominated once again for the Fortnum [and] Mason Food Personality of the Year Award for the 4th year running.

‘Dave was so proud of this award, particularly because it’s voted for by our loyal followers and fans, the people who matter most to us.

‘It’s really strange for us all not to have Dave around but for now, we will keep posting on the Hairy Bikers socials to keep in touch with all those people who have been so kind over many years and particularly in recent weeks.’

Si promised that the team would be staying in touch with fans about various ‘projects which will live on’ after Myers’ death.

He also assured them that he will be attending events over the summer, where he’ll meet their supporters in person.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Myers’ wife has inherited the BBC star’s company.

The broadcaster’s will has not yet been made public, but he has left Liliana his firm Sharpletter Limited, according to Companies House.

Liliana was named the sole person with significant control of the television production company on March 27.

Its latest accounts, filed last year, show that it has £1,407,338 in the bank.

Following her dear husband’s death, Liliana wrote in a statement: ‘Rest in peace my love… Till we meet again.’

She later issued a statement to thank the public for their outpouring of love and condolences.

Liliana wrote: ‘I will never be able to thank you all enough for the massive wave of love, compassion and care that you have shown towards me, Simon and our families in these past days since Dave passed.

‘I want you all to know that I have read every single message and comment that you sent… your stories about Dave, your feelings you shared with me mean a lot and my heart is filled with gratitude and love.

‘It amazes me how many hearts he touched and how many people wanted to express their love for what Dave and Si have created for nearly 20 years.’

She noted how it felt like she is ‘grieving with a whole nation’ which is ‘something special’.
