Rumours of a feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents have been ablaze for months, but it seems all it took was a roast chicken to take things to a whole new level.
Tensions have reportedly been fizzling away between Brooklyn, 26, and his mum and dad, Sir David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, since the aspiring chef was a no-show at his dad’s 50th birthday bash in May.
There have been countless reports in the months since about how ties have been severed, the latest being that Brooklyn allegedly blocked his famous parents on Instagram just days before Christmas.
And now it has emerged that fashion designer Victoria unknowingly escalated the feud by showing her appreciation for… her son’s cooked chicken.
Taking to social media six days ago, Brooklyn showcased his culinary skills once more by cooking up beer-brined chicken with mashed potatoes and veg.
The tutorial video showcased every step of the process before Brooklyn plated up his festive dish, the post also in collaboration with clothing brand Express.
He told his 16million followers: ‘I mean, the holidays is basically an excuse to dress up, all chic, all smart, so I’m wearing my favourite Express look.’
‘Really cosy bottoms, my classic white T-shirt, and, of course, a flannel,’ added the former model, who plans to spend Christmas with wife Nicola Peltz and her family in the States.
While there was plenty of praise in the comments for the eldest Beckham child’s cookery expertise, it was one person’s online activity in particular that caught his attention.
It’s believed that mum Victoria ‘liked’ the Insta vid simply as a way of sending her son some festive cheer in virtual form.
Alas, it wasn’t received so merrily, as Brooklyn reportedly responded by not only unfollowing her but also blocking both her and husband Sir David, too.
Dishing the dirt as speculation bubbled away in the press, Cruz hit back with a defiant Instagram Story, writing ‘NOT TRUE’ alongside an article screenshot that said it happened the other way around.
‘My mum and dad would never unfollow their son,’ added the 20-year-old. ‘Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.’
A source later explained to Metro: ‘Victoria liked an Instagram post on Brooklyn’s page just days before he blocked her and David.
‘There was no intention behind it other than to show she’s thinking of him before Christmas. She had no idea it would lead to this fallout.
‘She can’t understand why Brooklyn would make the decision to block her, David, and his brothers. Cruz and Romeo are just as hurt by it, and it feels like Brooklyn has truly cut them out of his life.’
In the days since, Beckham fans have taken to Brooklyn’s comments of the roast chicken vid, seemingly desperate for him to reconcile with his once-tight-knit family unit.
‘Family is everything no matter what ….❤️❤️❤️’, commented @angela_x_marie.
‘Go and see your parents, you will regret it later in life ❤️’, wrote @nunny3666.
@melinda.I.craig echoed: ‘Go cook with your Dad. Looks yummy’.
‘Holidays is about family, life is too short ,make up with your parents you never know what’s round the corner 😢’, added @jules_outtie.
Another standout comment comes from Sandra Beckham, Sir David’s 76-year-old mother, who left a red heart emoji.
While Brooklyn has not engaged with her comment, it remains visible, suggesting not every bridge is entirely burned.
However, Brooklyn is said to have no plans to make a trip across the pond this Christmas, having only grown closer to Nicola’s billionaire family since their wedding in 2022.
Meanwhile, Victoria will host her own Christmas celebrations with Sir David and her three other children – including 14-year-old Harper and 23-year-old Romeo – with The Sun claiming she’s now lost hope of a Brooklyn reunion this side of 2026.
‘Victoria is determined not to let the argument with Brooklyn ruin Christmas, even though she is absolutely heartbroken by it,’ added an insider.
‘It’s been a year since they last all saw each other, and it’s something she will never come to terms with.
‘But she won’t let it get her down over the festive period, as she needs to be strong, especially for Harper, as well as her parents and David’s parents.
‘They have done nothing in all of this, but it seems like they’re the ones being punished the most.’
Whose side are you on?
-
Brooklyn and Nicola
-
The Beckhams
Cruz’s Insta denial aside, the Peltz and Beckham clans have remained pretty tight-lipped publicly on the saga that’s gripped the press all year.
Although it’s said Brooklyn and actress Nicola have kept silent for a reason, as they ‘just want peace’, having even requested Posh and Becks ‘back off’.
‘It would be best for everyone for them [the Beckhams] to stop contacting, commenting and briefing because it’s not accomplishing anything,’ a friend said recently.
‘They just want to be left alone. The Instagram stuff is just a media play – it feels like more manipulation, more gaslighting. It just drives Brooklyn and Nicola further away.’
