How old are Giles and Mary on Gogglebox?
Giles and Mary’s relationship dates back decades, having met when they were in their early twenties.
At the age of 21, they first crossed paths when Giles was studying at Wimbledon Art School and Mary was a model and – as they say – the rest was history.
While their exact ages have not been revealed on Gogglebox, the couple have been married for more than 30 years and have two adult daughters together.
Giles has shared regular throwback photos on Instagram of himself and Mary, and in a previous one wrote in the caption that the black-and-white shots were captured around 1986, which would have been 36 years ago.
One Instagram user remarked that they thought Giles looked like David Bowie, while another commented: ‘Mary looks no different.’
The TV personality’s earliest Instagram post, which was shared in June 2021, featured a photo of himself and his wife taken around 1990, capturing a moment as they enjoyed each other’s company outdoors.
Why do Giles and Mary call each other ‘Nutty’?
Aside from being regarded as one of the poshest households on the Channel 4 show, many Gogglebox viewers have found themselves asking over the years while Giles and Mary call each other the pet name ‘Nutty’.
During an interview with the Daily Star, Mary revealed: ‘We call each other ‘Nutty’ because we both consider the other to be a bit mad.’
She added: ‘Giles has multiple personality disorder so he’s all sorts of people and one of them is a bit of a genius. The truth is we’re both neurotic.’
